PIKA expects to release the new capability prior to the end of this year.<\/p>\n

Through its partnership with Commetrex, PIKA’s product line has provided fax support for its PC-based DSP telephony boards the last six years. The highest-speed modem offered on Daytona has been V.17, which has a top speed of 14,400 bps. Commetrex’ release of V.34 Fax Modem<\/a><\/span> to its OEM customers means that the data rate of fax transactions can more than double to 33,600 bps, cutting image-transfer times by one-half, a big savings to users in long-distance fees.<\/p>\n
