IPP2000 FAX & FaxIP for Skype Honored for Outstanding Innovation
Fairfield, NJ, June 21, 2007 – Eutectics and NetGen Communications announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) named the IPP2000 FAX and FaxIP for Skype as a 2007 TMC Labs Innovation Award winner presented by INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine. The hardware-software combination allows the Skype user to send real-time faxes using T.38 between two Skype-connected fax terminals anywhere in the world with no toll charges. T.38 is the international standard used by PSTN-gateways to send faxes across an IP network. In this case, the Skype computers serve as the gateways using a patent-applied-for technology to enable the product combination to use Skype addressing and client software.
“We are extremely pleased to be selected for this prestigious award by TMC, one of the most forward looking and influential voices in our industry”, said Don Fowler VP of Sales for Eutectics Inc. “We feel that the real growth opportunity for VoIP is clearly the SOHO/SME. IPP2000 Fax combined with FaxIP for Skype meets a great need in this sector: free real-time fax over Skype™.”
Tom Ray, NetGen Communications EVP, Marketing and Sales, added, “We believe that Skype, followed by Google, AOL, and others may be redefining telecom. This partnership to bring fax-for-free to the SOHO/SME is only the first of many products that will ride this, the next telecom wave.”
“IPP 2000 FAX combined with FaxIP for Skype is clearly deserving of recognition in the VoIP sector of the IP Communications industry. We’re proud to reward the hard work of Eutectics and NetGen with a TMC Labs Innovation Award this year,” said TMC President Rich Tehrani.
According to Tom Keating, CTO and TMC Labs Editorial Director at TMC, “The Innovation Awards exemplify the best products and services that this industry has to offer. Eutectics and NetGen Communications have demonstrated a commitment to the further development of the IP communications industry with this product and marketing partnership. They deserve this honor, and I look forward to seeing other innovative solutions from them as they continue to contribute to the future of IP communications.”
Keating continued: “The TMC Labs Innovation Awards honor products that demonstrate raw innovation, unique features, and significant contributions toward improving communications technology. It’s not granted only to the best-selling products, but instead to those demonstrating raw innovation, uniqueness, and representing a significant contribution to the industry.”
2007 TMC Labs Innovation Award winners can be found in the July and August 2007 issues of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
