Commetrex Rebrands BladeWareVXML CE as BladeWareVXi

A Significantly Enhanced OpenVXi-based Interpreter

Atlanta, GA December 17, 2008 – Commetrex Corporation announced today that the latest release of its OEM-focused VoiceXML interpreter BladeWareVXML Commercial Edition (CE) has been re-branded as BladeWareVXi. Tom Ray, Commetrex, EVP, Sales and Marketing, explained: “We have selected the new name BladeWareVXi in recognition of the legions of OpenVXi users and supporters. But with this latest release, we have further distanced the product from OpenVXi with added features.”

Key enhancements to BladeWareVXi over previous versions of OpenVXi include:

  • Significant performance improvement
  • Improved Linux support
  • Built-in DTMF recognizer
  • International support enhanced with double-byte characters

According to the company, even with these added features, BladeWareVXi is a virtual drop-in replacement for OpenVXi, as it utilizes the same APIs. Current users of OpenVXi can seamlessly migrate to the newer commercially supported BladeWareVXi version. The company also announced plans to include support for VoiceXML 3.0 in BladeWareVXi, once this standard is ratified by the W3C.

Commetrex also announced a new pricing scheme responsive to the current economic environment. “We have introduced a new subscriber pricing model that eliminates per-port charges and allows for a single annual fee or monthly payments, depending on your preference,” states Ray.
